Paula is a postdoctoral Genomic Medicine T32 fellow. She completed her PhD in 2019 at the University of Kansas with training in evolutionary biology and started in the Link Lab in August 2021. She is primarily interested in the genetic mechanisms and neural circuitry that regulate epilepsy comorbidity in microcephaly patients.  She is particularly fond of confocal microscopy and is on a mission to develop her expertise in fly neural anatomy. When she isn’t in the lab you can find her in the kitchen experimenting with different flavor combinations, in the yoga studio, or out on the trails hiking with her adventure cat, Squeegee.
